I'm sitting here and sipping warm sake while I listen to Sonata Arctica. It has been a long week and I am glad to finally relax. Today was eventful! A classmate of mine had the idea to do a "Japanese Thanksgiving" and even convinced the teacher to give us extra credit for doing so! I know! It's crazy that we got extra credit for this. Although, I found out today that the teacher wants us to share a slide-show of it with the class. That was something we were not anticipating. We did get some good shots of it I think, though. With the obligatory picture of my guest pretending to be passed out with cold on the floor with an overturned sake cup nearby.

That's a fantastic menu! Mind, stuff anything with avocado and you have my full attention. I'm not seeing the "thanksgiving" theme, though. Is there a connection there that my terribly anglo mind is missing?

Yeah, my guest used some leftover avocado and mixed it with the spicy kewpie mayonnaise to make an dip for the tempura that was actually really good. Avocado is awesome.

And no, there is no connection to Thanksgiving other than us having a large meal in proximity to the holiday, ending up with way too much food, and I'm still eating the leftovers from it. *grins*
