Another week, another bankrupt car company, another slew of secured bond holders shafted by the US government. Who needs the protections the 5th ammendment to the constituion provides anyways? Its just some old document collecting dust...

Look for the Union label. That is, so long as you arent looking to infuse the U.S. economy with investment ( Read more... )

Out of curiosity, what would the Republicans be doing differently if they were still in charge, in your opinion?

I'm asking not to be a dick, but I can see the reasons (and don't always agree with 'em) why the gov't is doing what it's doing now, but am curious to hear the other side. I'd rather ask you than read some rhetoric from the party itself.

You already know the answer: they'd do jack over shit except deny the problem exists and pray to jeebus and the invisible hand of the market to sort it out.

You used to be interesting - now you just seethe vitriol.

Lucky for you the amazing success this administration and their efforts in the auto industry are going to have will prove me an idiot and you warranted.

Congrats.

I'm still interesting.
You just can't handle the truth.
And you haven't seen vitriol yet.

Yes, it is lucky for me. And you. And everyone else, because these are critical industries, since a huge chunk of the American industrial base is tied to the auto industry. Chrysler is well on its way to recovery, GM will follow, and so will the US and world economy.

You're welcome.

apparently if you don't support obama you're just wrong in everything you do. bush is not the cause of every problem in america. obama is not the answer to every problem in america. it doesn't matter what party you side with, the problems we are facing can't just be ignored but we need to take some responsibility too. bush didn't force you to sign up for that extra credit card or buy that gas guzzling suv that's twice your salary and obama should not have to clean up your mess because the shit hit the fan. why bother making any effort in a company if you can just get a bail out? who knows what will happen at this point. things are a mess and it can't be ignored. i don't support obama but i don't want him to fail either. i'm just curious as to how his supporters who think he can do no wrong will react if he does.

'his supporters who think he can do no wrong'

I wouldn't know. I've never met one.
Nor have I met any unicorns. =/

hah well, you're lucky then because they do exist. perhaps only on the internet. usually not the most intelligent of people. neither are the ones who can't admit bush made any mistakes. i guess all we can do is see what happens and hope for the best.

I'm sure there are one or two. Using them as the rule instead of the exception seems a bit.. inaccurate. =/
