It's gotten great reviews from all the critics so far as being an intelligent, well made and very creepy tale, so I'm keeping an eye out for it. I've seen a short film by Jennifer Kent, the writer and director of this and I liked it very much, so I think that this one is shaping up to be a winner. If it's as good as they say, I think that she has a promising future as a quality film maker. It's interesting that it was partially funded via KIckstart - just over $30,000 was raised.

I actually thought of you specifically when I found out about this film as I thought it would be to your tastes.

Yes! Thank you for posting this. I'm definitely a fan of German Expressionism. I know it is considered the mark of a good horror movie to have it scare you the bejesus out of you, but that really isn't what I'm searching for in horror. To me it's all about atmosphere and creep factor.

And yes, I hate torture porn too.
