Ouch. This is terribly sad, Sam fighting for years and years but being a silent witness of all the destruction. Lucifer is a cruel bastard. Still, the End!verse is so heartbreaking and hopeless that this is probably the happiest ending we could get. At least the brothers will be together in heaven. Thanks!
