This was not exactly the way I expected or hoped to spend my birthday, however I am not about to let recent events negate any celebrations. I had enough of growing up with my guardian declaring my every birthday a funeral, all because it fell on the wrong day.

So Happy 23rd Birthday to me.

Why would your guardian your birthday a funeral? That just seems strange.

On my third birthday the most beloved king of my country died. So she mourned him more than celebrated my birthday. So that became the centre of this day for her.

It is fine. I enjoyed myself in other ways. I never listened to her.
