Oh, that was great. :) I like your interpretation of their relationship much. And how they're having this one last beautiful farewell while everything is burning and falling around them.

hello - i don't know why i didn't read this when it was posted (i guess that's a good thing about the commentathon, it does remind you), but i really liked it. the eliot works really well with the tone (and the phrasing - i like the repetition, much like the wasteland) of the rest of it, and it's really beautiful, sad writing. lots of really great phrases. in short, i really liked it. thanks for writing :)
