Things between them have never really been awkward. They know each other too well for that. It’s the same reason things have never been comfortable, either.

Thank you! That's always how I've seen them - there's never been any clear awkwardness between them (not that I've seen, anyway) but things are hardly easy or nice or smooth, and I think the combination can only come from knowing one another completely. Glad you liked it, anyway! :)
