My grandmother got her cybernetic heart implant last week. She's still recovering so we don't know how much improvement there will be, but she is breathing easier and her color looks better.

Yeah, She was the first person in Texas to get a recently approved heart valve. It was even developed in Seattle by Medtronics.

I'm trying to decide between sending them cookies or flowers.

Wow. How very cool.

Does she like cookies? Everyone sends flowers. Personally, given hospital food, I'd go for the cookies, if she's allowed to eat them.

Oh, no, she's out of the hospital and I've called and talked etc.

I was thinking of sending them to Medtronics, as much because getting a box of cookies should cause cognitive dissonance on their part as to say thank you.

How very fortunate of her! Getting a pacemaker made a world of difference for my mother, I can imagine the difference a new valve can make.
