He's just being a tard. He's clearly talking out of his ass, and doing so vehemently enough that you can safely assume that he's scared that he's wrong.
Even assuming for a moment that his gripe has merit--and I'm of the opinion that in reality it's pure self-justifying bullshit, there's a VAST gulf in perception and fear/pain reactions between plants and animals--every act of "floratical genocide" that he states would happen if all or most of the human population became vegetarian is happening today, only right now it's being used to feed artificially overpopulated livestock herds. We commit every act against plants that he's supposedly so worried about, use the plants to feed livestock who would never have been born if we weren't artificially inflating their numbers, and then slaughtering off the livestock too, so we're doing harm to both groups instead of just one. Humans also need a lot less grain and vegetation to maintain themselves than say, cattle, so we'd be killing fewer plants on top of not killing animals.
I liked Scott for a long time but he has always had issues.
Number one is that he believes stuff he wants to believe and refuses to ever concede. Ever. If he believes it to be true then by God it is and he will never give up ground. He's like an impenetrable ass.
I mean, this is a guy that I think is an arrogant, stubborn ass.

In short, ignore Scott. He's full of shit.

And god forbid that vegetarians eat dairy, eggs and other animal products. The anti-veggie people never focus on that.
