he made me a lei type thing and just said, "Well I was going to ask you to go to homecoming with me, but you're going with mere." and Mere said, "Do whatever you want." and I said that I would think about it.

Go with both of them. You can always find someone to pay for the other half of a second ticket, and they don't have to stay with you except for the few moments they need to get in via the ticket.
