Shoreline school district teachers and support staff are striking. The state mandated a raise for the teachers (and didn't include the support staff at all) and then didn't fund it.

Made new skirt. It is pretty.

If the federal government would allocate more than the budgetary equivalent of one F-15 fighter plane to the school districts, perhaps this wouldn't be a problem.

Then again, if we had good education, there would be fewer people to fill those F-15s.

I plan on never owning my own house unless I marry someone who makes much more than I do. Teacher's salaries suck.

That's what my mom says. They're still setting up and everything, but if the contract signing doesn't go over well, the first day of school will be without teachers.
