HELP! I'm hoping to go volunteer at a garden in the UK for three months starting in April. I'd like to contact the garden to arrange this, but am absolutely useless at writing letters that actually communicate what I need to communicate at an appropriate level of formality. Is this too direct

Trust me people will like direct! Though putting "and" between university and interested in place of the ". I am" might give it a better flow.

I always like to make the "Thank You" sound more personal.
