The aftermath of the Aware Saga
Despite the fact that the Aware EOGM is over and that excitement is gradually dying down, the right wing Christian fundies are still up in arms and are sending around a petition to MOE seeking a review of the Aware sex education program for its apparent "homosexual slant". Coming from an ex-teacher...
AWARE's CSE programme mentions homosexuality in just a few sentences (maybe 2 minutes worth?)
Every other sec school not having engaged AWARE's CSE program would have their kids spend one entire freaking period on homosexuality.....*gasp*!!!!! (through their own in-house Lifeskills/Values Education programme).
I hope MOE points this out to COOS...and we'll see if COOS will be stupid enough to launch an entire campaign against MOE with regards to this.
