US Education and Corporal Punishment
I couldn't even think what to title this, my jaw is just still kind of on the floor! I know this nation is far from perfect, very far. I sometimes like to curl up in the soft comforting ignorant bliss and like to think ok yeah, somewhere there maybe corporal punishment going on here and there. More that 200,000 kids between 2006-2007 were punished

paddling a three year old like that...parent shouldn't be doing this...why would the bloody state sanction schools?
Besides kids learn early on enough that it's not exactly a deterrent. and besides that three year old was just being a three year old

Glad I did not go to a school like that. Glad that the 3 year old (I guess?) was able to tell someone. Scary though that some schools have "permission slips" and parents are just apathetic. I mean ok I know most of these states are very poor states (and states where that has long been sort of part of the 'culture') so maybe it's not on the top of the list sadly but, geez! Someone needs to listen to and advocate for these kids. *sigh*
