Queensland Holiday!
Well...
On Saturday afternoon, Nate drove me to Keira's house and we drove from there to Tuggerah station, where we met Mel. We caught the train to Domestic Terminal, then got a taxi to the Formule 1 near the airport, where we were staying for the night.
Had some dinner, showers, booked a taxi for the next morning and then went to bed at about 9 - 9.30pm. Woke up the next morning at about 5, got dressed, dragged our suitcases downstairs and got a taxi to the airport. We checked in at about 6 (the flight left at 7.05am) and spent the time inbetween having breakfast and taking some pictures. It was my first time ever on a plane, so I was really excited and bouncing up and down.
We got on the plane, where I bounced for most of the flight. The Jetstar guy noticed how excited I was and looked at us funny until Kez explained it was my first time on a plane. Then he grinned at me and asked if I would like to see the flight deck and meet the pilots when we landed. I felt like a little kid, but of course I said yes! The pilots were really nice and showed me all the buttons and switches and the joystick, etc. I wanted to take pictures but I didn't ask in case they thought I was a terrorist. We then took the shuttle to the hotel, where we left our bags and did some grocery and alcohol shopping until it was time to check in.
We had some cocktails, then lounged around the pool/spa area until dinner time. After that, we went to Jupiter's Casino, which was pretty boring, but oh well. We took the monorail, which is $2 per ride, so we went for about 3 laps before the driver started looking at us funny and we got off. After the casino, we came home, watched some TV and went to bed. On Monday, we spent the day shopping in Broadbeach, at the beach and again by the pool. Monday night we decided to have a small party, had a few cocktails in the spa with a nice New Zealand couple, then went back upstairs and got really, really drunk. It was fun!
On Tuesday we went to Surfer's for the day, shopping and beaching it once again. Tuesday night is Ladies night at a bar called Shooter's, so we went clubbing. On a TUESDAY! It was totally going off, except QLD girls can't really dance. So Keira, Mel and I showed them how it was done. They guys loved us muchly. ;) oh, and they had jager shots! I got pretty drunk again. We got a taxi back to Broadbeach, and went to bed at about 1.30am. Got up this morning at about 8, cleaned up, packed up, went for a walk on the beach and got the shuttle back to Coolangatta airport. The plane back to Sydney was pretty cool as well, except when we hit the turbulence :( I was pretty scared, even screamed a couple of times. Peple kept looking at me funny.
We were on the top level of our hotel, and anytime we got into the lift (going either way) we'd push every single button on the way out. We did it once, and when the door opened we got out giggling. There was a man standing there waiting, and we thought he'd have to stop at every floor on the way down. It turned out we were actually on the 5th (not the 6th) floor, so the poor man had to go up and then to every floor on the way down! Oops.
We're planning to go back in March. It was so much fun! We made "Sexy Back" by JT our theme song for the holiday. Don't ask me why, I hate JT. But we played it over and over.

I'm glad to be back, really. Missed my Nan, and my family, and James. :) Things are going so well there!
