Well, their latest argument that they can decide what is obscene outside of a court of law is rather ridiculous. They can judge something unacceptable, but it's close to libel for them to say that they can decide what is obscene or what isn't. Not to mention they're being hypocritical because if they're going to pull the obscenity laws into play, they're only enforcing one part of it.

It smacks of an agenda that is more because of outside interest, ala the groups that are attacking their advertisers, etc, than it does of genuine interest of protecting LJ from legal harm, or much much further, protecting actual children.

I think they way they're going about explaining how they're banning it, along with their reasons/methods is the biggest problem. It's flawed reasoning, and questionable methods. I agree that if they go, hey, we're banning this because we don't like it, it would be a different situation. But how they keep trying to explain things off, and spin it, it's just making it worse and is that much more upsetting.
