Ed has passed.

This is theotherqpc, Ed's partner. For those who do not know, Ed had a massive heart attack about a month ago while in the hospital awaiting heart surgery. The doctors and nurses were able to save him then, but in the following weeks spent in ICU, his condition remained unstable and he never fully woke up, even two weeks after he was taken off

Oh no. I knew he was not well of late but not like this. My sorrow to have missed out on the honor of meeting him in person. We bonded over our interest in Easter eggs and the various methods of creating them, some years ago in somebody else's journal, and became LJ friends.

Indeed may his memory be eternal! I'll miss being able to wish him Христос воскрес! Christos voskres! Wishing you the best, Jeff.

I've said it elsewhere, but I'll repeat it here.

Ed was one of the first bears I met, nearly 20 years ago, when I first got involved in the community. He always made me feel welcome, in his inimitably lecherous way. We had the special bond of sharing a birthday which, despite being nearly 20 years apart, seemed to lead to an unexpected level of understanding.

I'm so glad I got to talk to him, albeit briefly, in January.

Jeffy, it's wonderful that you were with him for these past 10 years. You made him happier than he had been in the entire time I knew him up until then.

I'm sorry.

I know how it feels to love someone for years
and then lose them.

I know how there are NO words to describe how
it feels.

But he was loved by you, and this is the
greatest gift you can give another human.
