Our Accountant asks my coworker if our organization has Columbus Day off, and when my coworker says, "no", he says, "oh, because it's a regular federal holiday..." and my coworker replies, "We're a Native [American] organization - we don't really celebrate Columbus Day."

The other day I went to the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) to buy parting gifts for the George Washington University students doing work-study for us. I didn't know it has two gift stores. The one on the second floor is pretty big and has everything from cds to books to pillows with Native beading on it.
