i want an allen & heath xone:62 but until i can afford a $1000 mixer, i will probably be settling for a nice vestax or something. the vestax mixer i like is only around $400-500.
that one is just over £200, so I guess near the $350 mark - I'm working on a tight budget here, and still not sure when I'll be able to start playing clubs and that - for the moment I'm just a bedroom DJ and I can't justify spending that much cash on a mixer - besides, I need to buy lots more tunes as well!
yeah, i need to make a trip to the record store today... haven't been in entirely too long.
i'm mostly just a bedroom dj too, but i actually have some experienced... i only got my numarks a couple of months ago but years ago i used to spin, so i'm just getting back into practice. and i do play the occassional party now and then, so having some decent equipment is definitely a good thing.
but yeah, i can totally understand the whole budget thing.
At the moment I'm buying up just about everything that's been released on Tripoli Trax - I've fallen in love with some off the stuff that's come out on it recently.
Hopefully I'll be spinning in a cafe after the club soon, but not sure when/if that'll happen - for now I just turn up at parties with a few tunes and beg my way on to the decks- not enough reputation yet to be invited to spin but I'm getting there!
Just finished recording a cd for a friend (it's her b'day today so me is out there in a few) and I know that she'll play it to all and sundry ('cus she's like that!) so maybe that'll help some....
