Last time I commented on one of these pieces, it was just about the hot sex. But this... I love this universe. You've got the politics of it right up front, explained it without just info dumping. It's fantastic.

Glad you liked it! I'm very glad it didn't read as too much of an info dump; I was a little worried about that.

I really like this and I'm feeling for Jason here, a lot. I can see where his father is coming from, wanting his kid to have the greatest possible number of available choices, the most freedom to do what he wants, all that good stuff, but at the same time trying to be liberal from his POV. The, "I want you to do whatever makes you happy but I want you to be a member of the privileged group because I think that'll make you happy" that has so many contradictions in it. :/ Good stuff.

Thanks! I really didn't want to make his father out to be a villain. He wants what's best for his son, and he doesn't want him to have to fight for everything his entire life. It takes a certain amount of creativity to be able to envision possibilities outside the current structure, and while Alan's not a bad guy, he just doesn't have that kind of imagination. Jason does.

Oh, that's just fabulous. I wasn't expecting to see Jason's test days, and it's definitely good to get a glimpse of them! :)

:D Glad you liked it! It just sort of came to me, even though I was fighting the worldbuilding voices. I can't help loving Teenaged!Jason in any incarnation, I guess.

So interesting! Subtle, too. You've made this world very real.

I just can't help doing at least a little worldbuilding. I'm hopeless. I'm glad you liked it, though, and that it worked in context.
