I have no idea how to explain it. And while I totally respect someone's choice not to intoxicate themselves... I just... sorry, my brain shut down. Irish Cream is pretty high up on my list of favorite flavors ever, and I couldn't imagine a universe in which I had never experienced it.

i usually let people have a little taste in a spoon. that said, what in goddess's name is B-52 syrup? people ask that all the time, and my usual stock response is, "i have no idea. we tried it once and couldn't really tell. i was hoping it would start singing "love shack" as you poured it, but no dice." sometimes people get it, sometimes they look at me like i have two heads and underwear on both of them.

Okay, duh. I don't know why I didn't think to sample out the syrup. It'd be leagues easier than trying to explain the taste of whiskey to a non-drinker.

A B-52 is one of those hangovers-in-a-shotglass made with a combination of sugary booze, usually coffee liqueur, orange liqueur, amaretto, and Irish cream. I'm guessing the syrup's supposed to taste something like that. I haven't had it, though, so I can't say for sure.

Me, I'd rather risk the headache and pour booze in my coffee.
