Schmoliday BakingFest, Round One

Holy cripes. I have several logs of stuffs-to-be-baked cooling in the refrigerator and holy hell, girlfriends, why did I ever make myself go through all of this holiday bakingry nonsense without machinery? For the first time, I prepared a batch of sables and a batch of crackers with the help of my new BFFs, KitchenAid Stand Mixer and Cuisinart

I'm envious of your holiday baking. I don't bake as much as I used too. My oven does a terrible job on cookies and I've given up on baking anything that has to look presentable. Roasting meat isn't a problem. When my oven did a decent job, I used to make creamy lemon macadamian nut cookies. I've tried to clean it but the chemical oven cleaner makes me feel dizzy when I use it.

I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer in storage for when I return from the UK. I really hope I don't get stuck living there forever, foresaking all of my North American appliances.
