i will never understand how someone can DRINK half and half. i don't even understand whole milk. yesterday i had a customer insist that our milk was bad, and i had no idea if he was right or not because i never ever drink it.

If it smells like sour milk or the least bit cheesy, then it ain't good. If it tastes like nothin', then it's probably fine.

I can understand drinking half 'n half in theory. It's rich and creamy, but it still makes me ill. Twenty ounces just seems greedy and vomit-inducing to me, but that's not my problem. Sometimes I add a dash of the stuff to the milk I use for my personal drinks to up the luxury-factor of my foam. Just for kicks.

Yeah, I think my vegan days are on definite hiatus.

Ooh, I just remembered something that happened during my brief gig with the Allmother Siren. I had a customer ask for an "extra-creamy breve." By this, he meant that the half-and-half was to be replaced with heavy cream.

Heavy Cream! Whipping Cream! The stuff we used for, well, whipped cream. He wanted us to steam a cupful of it for him. Wowee.

OH YUCK. yuck yuck yuck.

i'm not a vegan, cow's milk just turns my stomach for some reason or another, i don't digest it very well. i can and do eat cheese and yogurt, and i have these battles with ice cream where i tell myself it won't make me sick and so i down a pint of B&J's and then get violently ill.
