New Ragtime

Saw the revival of "Ragtime" last night. It was a fine production... I just wish I went in not having memories of the 1998 production. I really miss the ridiculously ambitious sets flying in and out. With this one, they went with a simple three-tiered walkway concept. It served the show pretty well in terms of creating separate spaces for the

That's sad. I saw that 1998 production. It was one of the first Broadway musicals I'd seen and it really knocked my socks off.

I've pretty much heard from everyone that this production is okay for a regional theatre production (it started in Washington DC), but probably didn't need to come to Broadway.

I thought the production at Debaun was really just as good and just as impactful. I did enjoy the Broadway show, but I think that it should have been better than the community theater production.
