I go by the reviews over at www.blu-ray.com in general. There are a few other places I skim but it's between that and reading forum threads there about various titles. A good number of other sites still have a lot of HD DVD fans and supporters that skew the reviews and thread postings elsewhere since they don't want to support BD.

That said unless you're a Dragonball fan there's very little in the way of domestic anime on blu-ray yet, the main ones seem to be Yukukaze (which is upscaled) Wings of Honneamise if you can find it since BVUSA had poor distribution, and Appleseed Ex Machina, which I'm tempted to make into my first upgrade disc despite the fact I've got the DVD LE version.

Oh yeah, Paprika, there's Tekkonkinkreet or whatever it is too. Still not a lot of domestic releases in the US, at least BEI's doing BD now.
