I think that analogy is a bit of an understatement, but I know what you're trying to say. I don't know why, I could spend hours disecting that question.
I suppose knowing is better than suspecting though - having suspicion eat at you is not a pleasant experience. At least this way, I know there won't (shouldn't?) be any more surprises, and I can start dealing with things that way.
