They look like crap on my LCD as well, but looking at the originals on a CRT here at work I couldn't make out any detail. The 249 is just a black blob, etc.

You'd be amazed. And you of all people should know that levels on an LCD are misleading.

Agreed. some of the newer lcds with higher contrast ratios and broader dynamic ranges are starting to bridge the gap pretty rapidly. Also, pantone has a little thing called a 'huey' out that corrects for lcds quite well.

how's airsoft these days?

I might just have to look into this gizmo you speak of.

The last 8 games or so have been just Flo and I. Kinda sucks, I miss the old days where there were like 8 of us going. But the games are getting bigger, new fields, new gear... It's good. You should come back out at some point - if you can remember how to shoot.
