Oh my Gallaudet!

You might have or have not heard about Gallaudet University's crisis for 9th president. It is driving me crazy everyday about this and I am not involving with this protest. I am just neutral between pro and con things. Sometimes, I do feel truly embarassed (sp?) in deaf community because of their civilization acts were sort of immature. My ( Read more... )

Oh god, I'm embarrassed of Gallaudet as well...

But honestly, I don't think Jane should be in there. Not for the fact that she's oral but the fact that she's not really interested in deaf community and the oppression for interpreters at Gally. I view Gally as THE place for the deaf community in the whole world, and it needs to be stable with a strong deaf (either oral or ASL-user) connected president. And I don't feel that Jane is fit to be the Gally's president. Nor do I feel that it's right for deafies there to be causing chaos/trouble. I hope this situation will get better SOON or shit will go down. Badly.

First of all, I am glad to hear from you! :)

Yes, I do agree with your opinion about Jane... Although, some of deaf people's behaviors were insane because several of them (Gallaudet students) were hungry strike, oh my! Otherwise, I agreed with them for striking to against vote the 9th president and tried to veto her. ...but some behaviors were, uh, you know..

Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. :) Also, I love this woman, too. :hugs:

Of course, I know that you're not a fan of Gallaudet. You may agreed with me but I am not an anti-Gallaudet as well as you know.

Yes, that's part of Gallaudet students' reasons to eliminate (sp?) her, Jane. Well, "respect" but it is more likely to be "culture" without poking the deaf world with the oral world culture merging together..

Of course again, I wasn't surprising to hear from you about Gallaudet because I do know that you do not like Gallaudet at all. I don't mind either; whenever I am hearing your opinions because some of them that I did agree.

Yes, I saw/noticed that your family is involving with the Gallaudet's protest. I do not like to involve with any politic things or in the sides but I am in the middle because I do agree and disagree. Lisa, you know that you should ignore people's judgements because they do not have their rights to judge you. I hate judgements.

Thank you for giving me your opinions. I do appreciate it as well as I am glad to hear from you again..

Hmm, that's interesting how you did compare the Mecca to the Gallaudet as a similarity... I can see your point is and probably, you're right but nobody can predicts it. Deaf will be always deaf...

Yes, I do understand what you meant abuot judgement things and I do feel that way sometimes. However, I haven't seen or heard people's judgements on me but my instinct told me; but, I might be a paranoid again. I am proud to be a Deaf but I am not proud about Gallaudet's violence/harmful some behaviors what they did. You know that Deaf world is a minority and Hearing world is a majority. Whenever Deaf people did something then hearing people have tendency to blame/notice Deaf people's flaws because they are just minority. I hate that ideal of minority races/genders/disablities or elses. (that sucks to be minority...)

All right, I didn't want you to think I was an anti-Gallaudet or whatever. I'm glad that you did share your opinion with me. :)

So, how are you doing?
