Lost in Blackhole of American History

Jan 29, 2007 16:32

I sat in the AP United State History class and asked many stupid superfacial (sp?) questions. "What is between difference civilized nations and uncivilized nations? So, is that relating to Theodore Roosevelt's picture of two bears with words on the bears?", Dr. Ross (teacher) gave me an expression like, "what the hell, are you talking about?"... I ( Read more... )

If I were standing near you, I would totally slap you for this post.
Not everybody can be a genius. There are only so many questions you can ask about those notes, and heck, if yours is about uncivilized v. civilized, ASK ANYWAY. Questions are all about what you don't understand. And don't worry about other people's looks. People are horribly judgemental and will laugh at you because they were thinking the exact question in THEIR head.
Besides, it's really easy for your words to be mixed up. Anybody who is speaking a different language, even if it IS just ASL is going to have some things lost in translation. Nobody can fault you for that.
Besides, Dr. Ross gives everybody those looks at one point or another.
The best thing to do is try as hard as you can at the time.
The Noel I know always tries, and definitely doesn't let other people's opinions get her down. She's too strong for that.
She wouldn't switch to a lower class. She's too good for that.

:imaginary a realistic slap: *oww!* Thanks.

Sigh, you got a point that I didn't think about it. Probably, you're right about this...

I know that I can't promise, but I am trying to improve in APUSH class. Thank you for being care... :)

I'm with Melissa on this.

I can't say that I don't obtain information on the subjects, because I genuinely enjoy history and actually read history books in my spare time. But the amount of effort I put into that class is practically unhealthy, and my other grades suffer. So, don't think you're not smart because you don't understand or can't obtain some of the information. You're very very very smart and a very creative person, and you deserve a chance to ask questions - even if you think they're dumb. Let me tell you, Dr. Ross does not think you're unintelligent in any aspect. He loves you - he talks about you all the time, and nothing bad either.

And by the way, I have not asked a question all year. At least you can come up with questions to ask!

Besides, Coach Roberts is a racist, sexist pig. Now who wants to deal with that?

Oh Liz, don't you try to be nice? Be honest, I did ask some stupid crazy questions, but I do trust your and Melissa's words about APUSH class. Dr. Ross talks about me, eh? What else does he want to talk about me?

Yes, true. I had a moment thought that I was glad that I wasn't in Coach Roberts' class. *nods*
