So, I called the neurologist, and his assistant called back said that I should stay on it until December and talk to him more about it then. She said I'd have been put on the medicine no matter what, and that people usually stay on it for at least 2 years. Well, I feel better now that I actually have an opinion. I STILL don't want to be on it if ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about hating the epilepsy medicine. Mine does weird things to me...if I take the full dose, I don't feel like myself and feel completely out-of-it. So I've cut myself back to half dose (but dont tell my neurologist) and I feel better. But for about a week, I havent taken it. I keep forgetting...I'll probably take it tonight. But I know what you mean about wondering if epilepsy is real. I question that all the time. I've never had a big seizure before, I just randomly twitch for less than a second. Is that twitch so bad that i have to take a bunch of medicine that could screw up the rest of my body? Next week it will be a year since my last "seizure" and I'm sick of taking medicine. I know exactly how you feel.

It's frustrating!!! You are right! I had one big seizure, and then the other 'simple partial' ones, and maybe it was just some weird thing I was going through.

It makes me tired, makes my eczema worse, and since it makes my birth control less effective, completely throws off my cycle, which is why I started that in the first place---SOOO Irregular! Plus, it screws a few other things up. It's not MAJOR, but it's irritating! I'm tired all the time, too. And yeah, I sometimes feel foggy and dizzy.

I'm glad there is someone who can relate :) Most people, I explain this stuff to, and they just say, "Oh, you should take it..."

Hugs, and thanks!
