[Trowa Merc Challenge] Point Blank Range

Rating: R (for gore)
Medium used: Copic pens, watercolours, a few Photoshop adjustements

I'm a bit ashamed it took me this long, way way past the deadline for this challenge really, but eventually I managed to finish up the pic I started on long ago. I'm not sure how much this is related to the mercenaries Trowa used to hang out with, but the idea ( Read more... )

WHoa. I love Trowa's expression, it's like 'same old, same old'. The long shadow looks really jarring, like a Dali painting. And O_O the head. I really love the sky, and the colours reflected in the lighting on Trowa. He's very, very pretty. Goodcontrast to the scene XD Gorgeous work :)

It's hard to do Trowa's expression, because they need to be minimalistic. Most often I don't pull it off very well, but this time it turned out pretty well. They say that a picture can speak better than words, but damn it's a lot harder to convey a message witha picture than with words. =)

Someone said that the severed head distracts from the main purpose of the fic, the whole Trowa facing his inner demons and that could be right. I just wanted to draw some gore, make the picture provocative on more than one level. That's sort of what we do here after all, provocative stuff involving Trowa.

I'm not entirely pleased myself with the shades on Trowa's skin, the darker and the lighter tones don't quite match. I was a bit limited with the colours I have on my copic pens. But I'm learning the cell-shading part, at least, putting the shadows in the right places. :)

So, my controbution is finally up, when do we get to see yours? :)

Ooooooh! I like to think it's Quatre's head, so don't dissuade me. Beautiful work...and I really like the color combination!

All right, I suppose you can imagine it's Quatre if you want, although that would sort of screw with the timeline. =)

Couloring is the part I like best, sketching is a drag.

The shadow came out well! Yay for non-arbitrary lighting. :) I like the camo, too...

No kidding for disturbing o.O

I'm glad someone noticed the camo, I spent a bit of time with that. It turned out to be less difficult than I thought it'd be though. It's supposed to look like the camo the use in the Swedish army, btw. :)

If you didn't get it last time, driving the point home now about taking the warnings of my work seriously. ;)
