I already told you how much I love this in the other comm, but I'd hate for there to be no comments here since I hate the thought of darktrowa dying. Waaaaaaah! *smacks everyone who doesn't comment*. Oooh! I agree totally with what salamandere said in the other comm: you definitely need to write a sequel from Duo's point of view. Yesh! *makes you drop all those Buffy/Angel fics and write that*
LOL! Buffy fics?? What Buffy fics?! I don't have any--oh THOSE Buffy fics! Really, they aren't--uh, *coughs*
*pets you and poor darktrowa* Part of it is the lack-of-a-mad thing. Dohzers! Oh well. *pets some more*
I'm working on the sequel--started it, actually. Problem is, I want it to be for the next challenge at gw500 and they haven't changed yet. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I enjoy seeing a Trowa [and Duo] who didn't find peace; didn't end up in the usual OTP; didn't find love or learn how to be in a relationship; didn't magically lose the fucked-up-ness that seemed to be part of the job description for Gundam pilots; didn't recover from the major traumas experienced in the war; didn't get a career and a home with a white picket fence. Both of them are even more unbalanced and on the edge; their lives seem to have achieved pretty much shit... more like RL than the usual post-war fairy tales. I liked Trowa's little internal thought processes, broken into disconnected pieces, like the man himself.
Hee!! I think you need a paid account to edit. Doh! Greedy bastards!! *slaps them*
Don't know where to start on this comment, but thank you so much!! It means a lot, especially lately! It even made my day. ^^ Working on a sequel now with Duo and the new gw500 prompt. We'll see where that goes, though I'm already thinking it'll be a little different from Trowa's (but still stream of consciousness).
Glad you like Trowa's perspectives because writing his character always makes me nervous (I love him, but I don't know him as well as some of the others. ^^). And I totally agree about the post-war thing--if we're talking realistic, I can see the boys ending up this way, even Quatre (who was far more messed up than he led on). I don't mind fairy tales from time to time, for me, paths like this make more sense. Hee! Everyone's got a different cup of tea, I suppose.
Mostly, though, it was just an excuse to write 3x2 and have hot, spontaneous kissing in the rain. *ahem* xDD
Hey, I read fairy tales, too! Sometime it makes RL not seem so bad when a OTP gets to have hot sex and a relationship that lasts. Can't read darkfic all the time. SOMEONE'S gotta win once in awhile!
But I admit a love for the dark and unexpected, because hey, life's like that. Have you read TB and Marsh's GW fic? They are among my favorite new writers keeping the fandom alive for me: they avoid OTPs, they put their unstereotypic GW people in awful situations, and there's never a "happily ever after," though the story may include sex and end with the possibility of a working relationship. Plus they are good writers. Wish I could do that...
