It had been a long time coming. Well, it seemed like a long time. Fred had written Ginny, telling her to be ready for kidnapping at noon sharp. Now he was striding up to the front doors of the castle. It felt like an age since he'd been here ( Read more... )

She had absolutely nothing to wear. Ginny tugged on the hem of the little black dress she'd borrowed from Katie, frowning at herself in the mirror. Fred hadn't exactly told her what to wear, so she didn't want to overdress, but she didn't want to be underdressed either. The dress was a bit on the short side, but otherwise nice, silk and sleek.

She checked herself in the mirror once more, fretting, before going down to meet her brother in the entrance hall. He was already there when she arrived.

"Hey," she said, smiling at him. "I'm sorry, I"m not too late, am I?"

Fred walked over and hugged her hard, kissing her head. "Hey Red, you look utterly beautiful." Fred spun her around and grinned.

"Do you have everything you need? We may stay over, have breakfast on the Seine and all that rot." He wrapped an arm around her waist. "Oliver's meeting us in the village."

Ginny blushed, despite herself. "Hush, I do not, but thank you." She slid her arms around him and hugged him close, breathing him in and closing her eyes for too short of a moment before he was pulling away from her, spinning her.

But then his arm was around her again and she snuggled close. "Overnight? Really? I didn't bring anything, should I?" She thought it was just dinner, but she liked the idea of getting him for a whole night, even if she did have to share him with Oliver.

Fred hugged her and kissed her hair. "If you want to run get something that's cool. If not we can buy something - you can grab one of my T-shirts to sleep in? Oliver said he'd pack so I have no idea what I'll end up with." Fred grinned.

"I await your pleasure m'lady."

Fred chuckled. "No, it's not that great. He's looking for a house actually." He paused, wondering if she'd be angry or happy or... "Well, we're looking for a house. My single bed isn't that much better than his flat."

Ginny blinked rapidly as she hugged him closer, kissing his chest. "Oh, hon. That's... that's wonderful. I'm really happy for you. Where are you looking for houses at? Will you be far? What's George say about this?" Maybe if she kept talking...

She was talking too fast and he stopped, setting her bag down and turning to look at her. He placed both hands on her shoulders. "George doesn't know. No one does, except for you. He's been talking about a house for a long time. He was talking about me visiting and I..." Fred hugged her. "I can't live over the shop forever. George is never home and I love him. You don't have to be happy if you aren't, but you need to know you'll always, always be welcome. All of you. Are you mad?"

She'd hoped to keep walking. Unfortunately he stopped and turned her to face him and he was talking about their house and how he'd not told anyone and how he couldn't stay over the shop forever and how she'd be welcome there.

She was crying before she knew what happened, and feeling like a complete arse. "I'm not mad," she said, wiping at her eyes. "Not mad at all. I'm sorry. Don't think... things aren't ever going to go back like they were are they? And I'm a bit sad about that, is all. And I am happy for you, love." God, more tears, would she fucking stop. "I'm sorry," she said again, wiping angrily at her face. "It's going to be brilliant. And George will be fine with it and you'll be happy." She hugged him tight. "I'm really not angry, all right? I love you, I'm glad you're getting what you want, god knows you deserve it."

"You didn't upset me beauty. I didn't mean to make you cry. I really, really do want your help if and when we find a house. Heaven knows I have no taste and Oliver claims not to so we'll need all the advice we can get. It'll be big enough for all of you to crash should the occasion arise. The only thing you need to do for me is let me make you smile."

Fred kissed her cheeks and then hugged her to him. "Ready?" he asked.

"You didn't, I told you, I was just being silly." She smiled at him. "I'll do anything you need, hon. Anything I can help." She doubted he'd want her hanging around too much, but she'd never pass up a chance to see him.

She squeezed him back, nodding and kissing him as well. "Yes, please."

"You can pick out a room, love. And I'll need someone to fly with, after all Oliver outstrips me with his eyes closed." Fred grinned. "Here we go then." They were pressed close together and then squeezed into apparition. They arrived in the back room. "And here we are, Red." He hugged her again and then stepped back, bag still over his shoulder.

"A room for what? How big of a house are you looking for? Are you going to go far away?" She stumbled as they arrived in the back room, grabbing his arm for support.

Fred leaned back against Oliver for a moment, pulling his sister against him and pinned between to people he loved. He kissed Ginny's hair and then tilted his head back to kiss Oliver's neck. "I'm game for something light. We have dinner planned someplace pretty for later, right? What do you think, Gin? Fancy French cafe, pastry, bit of o'lala and then some shopping? I'll even carry your bags."

Ginny leaned against hm, smiling. "Yeah, I'm good with that. But you don't have to carry by bags around, you know?" She snuggled against him. "Lead the way, Oliver."

Oliver nodded and kissed Fred's temple, before leading them out on to the busy street ahead. They were close to the Latin Quarter and the cafe Oliver was thinking of was just ahead. "What do you think? That all right?"

Fred took Ginny's hand and rubbed a hand down Oliver's back as he walked in front of them. The cafe was just what he'd always thought a cafe in Paris should look like. "Looks great. What do you think, Red?"

Ginny softened, smiling against her will and shaking her head at Fred. "Fine. Prat." She pushed one of the cups toward him and wrinkled her nose up at Oliver being so mushy. "You guys are worse than a couple of girls, you know that?"

Fred stuck out his lower lip and said in a high pitched voice "What do you mean, Ginny love?" Fred lay his head on Oliver shoulder and batted his lashes at Ginny.

Oliver chuckled. "We're not that bad. Comparing us to girls. Honestly. We're very masculine, aren't we sweetheart?" He asked, making kissing noises at Fred before turning to kiss his forehead.

Ginny laughed at both of them. "Terrible. I do have some make up you two can borrow. I got some new jewelry for my birthday." She took a bite of her pastry. "Have you taken him to meet mum yet?"
