May I suggest something that I witnessed once while buying eyeliner?

Tell your makeup person if you're sensitive to anything that might be used in makeup before they start. It's not really their fault (in my opinion, anyway) if you didn't tell them that you were sensitive/allergic to something in the lip gloss/lipstick or what-have-you that they applied, just because you trusted that 'hypoallergenic' means 'no one on earth will react to this'.
