thanks hun! and yes.. i have been slacking as far as going to school, got caught up in trying to straighten out my finances, so I started working extra shifts. i am still trying to decide what i would take in school. i need to eake somethign that does not involve much math, cuz we all know how horrid i am at that! unfrtunately i think there is alot of measurement involved in graphic design :(
Guess what - I suck at the math, too. So much, that I have to do many, MANY more hours of homework than the average person does, even in remedial math.
BUT - although yes, you will have to take math as far as getting a degree and shit, graphic design software does almost all of the math for you when it comes to the actual design work.
Example: Go into Photoshop menu under Image/Image Size. See the little phrase at the bottom with the checkbox in front of it that says, "Constrain Proportions"? That little box, when checked, does the math for you when you're resizing an image and want it to remain consistently shaped no matter how big or small you want it to be. Without that little box, you'd have to recalculate your values to keep from getting a squashed or stretched out image when you resized something. Photoshop and other software like it has many other mystical tricks that do much more of the work for Graphic Designers than even 10 years ago. It's a whole different world out there - it's entirely possible that it's not
