For a while anyway. Trying it out for a few months. I am currently sitting at the coffee shop sipping on a soy latte' . It only been two days so far but I can already feel my body getting better. I am overweight and low energy. I am trying to kick start my body into healthier living and feeling better. That and I need to quit smoking and don't want ( Read more... )

Good luck!
Be careful with the soy, though, the hormones can make you fat(ter) so it'd be wise to moderate your soy intake and not overdo it.

I'm fat and low energy too but have been taking high doses of very pure cod liver oil has helped so much. I'm not saying my health problems are gone, but I am feeling better than I have in almost a decade. I ran out of them and didn't have any money and since I stopped taking them I've slowly began to feel like shit again but I ordered more on MOnday so when the mailman brings them I'm hopeful that my stomach problems will again disappear. More than anything I think its the vitamin D and A that are helping so much so even if you don't want cod liver oil right now a good A/D supplement may help you too. New research on the topic is saying that even us super white folks are deficient even if we naked sunbathe to the max absorbtion every day.

lol. Not being a super white folk my vit D levels are pretty good. It's being over 1/2 native american. I can't do too much soy. I have a bit of issues with it from time to time. But I do need it. I have one barely functioning ovary and stopped my estrogen therapy a few years ago. 6oz of soy milk a day is good for estrogen production. Which I need. I do have Vit supplements though. I was vegetarian for 14 years and rarely ate cow products. It's more of an adjustment now just because I have again for years.

Thats impressive that your vit. D levels are good. Mine suck and I'm ghosty and the whiter you are the better they tend to be, especially in this climate where any pigmentation is bad. I suspect most of my vitamin deficiencies are nutritional though since I've had malabsorbtion for so long but lately thats gotten good enough on its own that I can eat food and vitamins and actually keep them longer than 5 minutes.

Definitely takes time to adjust, or adjust back but it'll be excellent. Its nice that you need some anyway, so it'd be harder to achieve overkill. I just see a lot of people that make the vegan switch and way overdo it but you know better so I'm sure you'll be just fine. :)

Yeah the vegan thing will probably be only a few months. It is an adjustment that's for sure. Thank god I know how to cook eh? could you imagine someone trying to eat this way who didn't?

Dennis and I should have you over for some good vegan dinner. We used to do it once a week when Kimberly Ann came over. Being vegan is part of what helped her live longer after she got cancer. It was also a lot of fun to try new food and such.

yeah sounds good. Tonight I am making veggie tamales. Well I am hoping too anyway. If I don't have time it's rice and veggies and a smoothie. Then tomorrow the tamales.
