Then you have the best chances in case you were on holiday overseas until the 16th or later and supposed to go back to Europe after that date. Like me. I'm currently stuck at Narita Airport, the next rebooked flight for me is on the 27th of April. Nearly 2 weeks longer in Japan. That might be tempting in case it was intentional but it's not.

Whoa, that sounds like quite a dilemma...
Actually, I came back from Asia this past Sunday. Was in Tokyo from April 2nd to 12th, and then went to China and HK for a week after. Funny it seems you were in Tokyo at the same time! That's about as close as we've been for two people living half the world away from each other.
Try to make the best of your situation. Maybe you can practice your Japan with others while you're there. ^^ Best of luck to you! Keep us up to date. ^^
