Hah! That reminds me of Dr. Laura going on Larry King talking about how she was going to get to work regaining her First Amendment rights back.

(Not that anyone has stopped her, other than probably her sponsors who were a little spooked by the train wreck of her taunting a black caller with the N-Word and telling the caller they're hyper-sensitive about race issues. I'm not so sure insuring that you'll be paid to be racist is in the Constitution. Doesn't seem very amendmenty to me.)

Well in truth I don't believe Doctor Laura was being racist, but rather pointing out that black comedians and musicians and so fourth say the N word all the time, but if a white person says it they're racist. Or how if you're a person of color and you say "Oh white people are always..." that's acceptable, but if anyone white generalizes about another race it's offensive. It's a legitimate hypocrisy, and one that most people accept.

That being said, while I don't believe her rant was inspired by racism, I do believe that it was ill conceived and inappropriate. And no, she's an idiot and is insulting the intelligence of her viewers if she thinks that her freedom of speech is being infringed upon because she's conservative.

I wanted to take time to agree with every single freaking thing you said, but it turned into an uber-long rant that I just deleted. So I'll sum it up, thank you, thank you,THANK YOU dear darlingfreak for writing this. It really made my day.
