Yes, I was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy bucket-o-bolts with 131,000 miles on it ( Read more... )

Yes, it's a Hybrid. No, I'm not suddenly trying to save the planet.

But I am!

In that case, you're failing miserably. ;) It's still an SUV, and if you don't stop being a hippy, I'm going to fill it with leaded gasoline.

Don't be a hippy Sparky, don't be a hippy.

*Maybe I can find a way to make it run on pureed kittens*

Just convert the gas-consuming side to bio-desiel and there you go:-)

But be prepared for the wrath of your wife to descend upon you.....

There's an active discussion going on right now about whether this is even possible. For some reason nobody makes a diesel or flex-fuel Hybrid right now except for one Ford -- and it's apparently crap.

4800 miles on a Toyota means it's just barely broken in. Well, actually, I think they break them in before they sell them, but 4800 is only about 2% of what you could expect. Mind you, I know nothing about the hybrid side, reliability-wise, but I'm on my 6th straight Toy, with over half-a-million miles, total, and I'm here to tell you you made a wise decision. I figure the Japanese do so well with electronics, their electric cars are probably okay.

Amazing how much you can cram inside one, too. I've been known to carry 500# of bagged mulch in the back seat of my Corolla. Now I have a RAV4, so I can manage even more! Congratulations on the new wheels.

It's pretty sweet so far. I'll give it 12,000 miles to form an opinion though. I loved my Envoy too... until it started breaking more often than it ran! (But from everything I've seen, this thing out to be near bulletproof in terms of maintenance.)
