time for a music entry i believe!
well, since i got a new harddrive, i downloaded some music. i guess it's all pretty much the same old thing, but anyway.
jeff buckley - grace (wanted to hear what all the fuss is about)
no use for a name - keep them confused (how can this band release the same album four times in a row?)
the foo fighters - in your honour (esp. the second disc!)
guster - lost and gone forever (perfect indie pop)
everclear - sparkle and fade (still the best band ever)
ted leo - shake the sheets (am somewhat over my obsession but still love it)
elliott smith - xo (revived it cause of 'independence day' and 'tomorrow tomorrow')
the beatles for sale (what can i say?)
alkaline trio - crimson (gets better every time)
fall out boy - from under the cork tree (also growing on me)
antiskeptic - change my ways EP (best dollar i ever spent)
saves the day - through being cool (glad i had the sudden idea to get this out again)
and last but not least...
the so far no good anthology: 2002-2005 (it's like a child to me)
yeah so, i'm sure i'm leaving certain things off, but you get the idea. i wrote and recorded a new song last week, but i don't know if i like it. anyone who's heard it and wants to comment is most welcome. speaking of 'the band,' go check out our
ratings! thanks for all the downloads that came from this page.
so i'm drinking iced coffee anyway and it tastes really bitter. surely my evolution from childhood naivety hasn't soured my taste for iced coffee? it's one of those things that are dear to me. oh dammit! i forgot to mention in my playlist that i also revived my jimmy eat world stuff! gave the new album another listen, and decided that i really like it. sure, the songs aren't actually as catchy or memorable as those on bleed american, but they're a different kind of song; more experimental, in a way. not as many twists-and-turns, but it's more straightforward and heavy-hitting. maybe, anyway jimmy eat world are still as great a band as they were when i first heard them, and i glad i still listen to them. love.
i can feel the urge coming along to watch lost in translation again. it happens reasonably periodically. i bought some movies recently, namely JFK, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, and the shawshank redemption. toyed with the idea of also buying the godfather and full metal jacket (among other things), but i figured $300 was more than enough spendin' for one week.
plans for these holidays include social drinking, changing my subjects for next semester, finishing catcher in the rye (love this shit so much, maybe i'll do that tonight), working more (particularly at eastern), running of some description, maybe buy some new clothes, watch the entire sex and the city catalogue. i'm sure more pressing things will emerge but i'm simply not in the mood to think about them right now.
if anyone has any interest in coming to the melbourne uni end of exams party on thursday 23rd, give me a yell (yes, still on my mobile - my 'cell' for you foreigners). i surely miss the days when everybody used to go out together, so i want to see you all there. should be a good night i'm hoping, and only a stone's throw from the casino. hehe you're all addicts.
was in a shit mood today, but feeling better now. everybody had...matching towels!
peace.
