So it's 6:30 in the morning or so, and I've been up for the past 40 minutes or so. I woke up at 1:30 this morning for a bit too. This is after coming back to the hotel at around 8-8:30pm yesterday and straight passing out. I was a little sick to the stomach yesterday, and by the end of the day I had a bit of a headache. Does the food there strike a huge contrast to what they serve here in the states?

Glad you're feeling better. Try not to fall in the ganges... but then again, you might get lucky! :P

Yes and no. India is of course a large country, and "Indian Food" encompasses a multitude of different regional cuisines. Most restaurants only offer a particular type, or a smattering across all of them. I'm in the city of Pune, in the province/district of Maharashtra. I'm fairly sure I've never had Maharashtran food before.

But that said, the curries and stuff are more same than different. However, you normally don't eat them with rice here, instead rice is eaten at the end of the meal if at all with dal. Still damn tasty though!
