Shit like that is never fun to deal with. I spent years trying to deal with my mental issues without any medications. It was hard, but I think I did OK with it. I feel I have a better command of my mind than if I had just let some drugs do it for me. Not every issue can be dealt with in that manner, though, and sometimes the medication is the only option. Its your call how you want to deal with it. I hope everything works out well either way :)

I think that with all these comments, you can at least know that you're not alone. There are definitely people that understand and empathize. I have the same days of deeply not wanting to get out of bed, but I drag my ass up and go to work. I've worse days, but I've been doing better by just talking about it. If I just hold onto it, and keep the feeling "mine", then it festers and rots inside till it's so much worse. If I let it out, siphon some of it off, then I can at least get some perspective from someone else. It's hard to get over that initial hump, though. Cause a part of you doesn't want to get better. It's easier to wallow sometimes, and besides, you'll be ok later. Just try spilling your crap out sometimes. Not to too many people, cause that's taxing and makes you feel like things are too trivial. Look into your insurance plan for what mental health benefits are, too. See how you feel after a while before thinking about any kind of pills. :)

I would agree there are things that I need to fix that are messed up.. but unfortunatly this is chemical.. when I go though certain depressive phases.. I can actually feel them coming on like something is happening to my brain.. and it slowly spirals down from there. till I hit the bottom and then start coming back up.. which leads into an overly manic phase.. yes I think I an clinicly manic depressive.. several in my family are.. and it is possible for that to be passed on.. there are a few things that I can try.. Oh and yes I am starting my up swing now.. I can physically feel the change lightening up.. so I will go to a doc and see what they have to say.. and I will also go to a shrink and see what they ahve to say.. thanks for commenting.. ;)

Looks like you got a lot of good comments, was glad to read this one :> It'll be good to go see what they have to say, never hurts to have options, and never hurts to try them :> If they don't work, hey at least you know... and at least you attempted.

We all love you! (well at least I do)

I don't really have much more helpful to say than that and if you need me, do feel free to call, email, text or whatever else. Even if it's just to chat.

You and Charlie are like brothers to me and always will be.

Darlin I'm sorry its been rough again! You know how to reach me and you know that I have a lot of personal experience with helping certain people trudge their way through bipolar so just know that I'm around if you need me. That can go for Steph to since its also now box of chocolates to be the one with the bipolar person as well.

That said I do think it might be a good idea for your to talk to a doc like you mentioned earlier. However, I don't blame you for being leary of medicines. There are good shrinks who will help you learn to even better recognize and work through your bipolar chemcically or not, Frank's did. It is along road; no where near as quick as treating it with medication but I think if you can do it you might just find it even more effective than Meds. Plus once you've got some of the skills no one can take them away just because you loose insurance.
