The more I think about the guy, the more I think that he actually doesn't think about his actions because he doesn't have to. That's a pretty insightful analysis actually and kind of fits with the whole motif of the character.

I've been playing too much solitaire and thinking about how all the most important decisions that I've ever made have been thoughtless, but highly effective in accomplishing what I need in life. Too much introspection, sorry.

Oh the "why so serious" wasn't an admonition but was meant to be funny because its what the Joker says in The Dark Knight.
