366 Day Photo Challenge - week 26
Week 26 - June.
Day 176 - Very small, far away.
Day 177 - Playing with the editing feature in iPhoto.
Day 178 - The fox was a regular visitor to the garden for a while, though we haven't seen it for months. Probably because it appeared to be suffering from sarcoptic mange.
I did find a charity that said it would send out fox mange remedies, but then it also claimed said 'remedies' were homeopathic. I filled in their request form online, and asked whether the stuff actually worked - saying that if it did I was interested, but if by 'homeopathic' they meant magic water with no scientific basis then I wasn't. They didn't reply, so I think we can assume the latter.
Day 179 - As soon as England got knocked out of the Euros all the merchandise was vastly reduced in price.
Day 180 - The rear bumper of my car, after being hit by a BMW. It was during morning rush hour (I was on my way back from a class, but everyone else was presumably on their way to work) and traffic was moving very slowly. I stopped halfway round a roundabout (Raleigh Island, for any locals who are interested) and the driver behind me (mid-twenties executive type in a company car) didn't.
Very little visible damage on the outside, but apparently significantly more underneath, necessitating a new bumper and several days' work. It was definitely the other driver's fault, which he admitted and apologised, so I just chucked it over to my insurers who sorted it all out.
The claim has reared its head again though, as the other insurers haven't paid for the hire car I had to have for a few days so I could still get to work. My insurers have said I won't have to pay anything as long as I agree to help if they ask, such as agreeing to go to court if it gets that far (which apparently it potentially could but almost certainly won't). Court proceedings are being initiated, which in most cases will get them to cough up pretty sharply.
As long as it doesn't cost me anything, I'm finding it all rather interesting.
Day 181 - Home-made cake filled with home-made jam. Mmmmm.
