Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince! Cosplay Conundrums?

Okay... first is the cosplay dealy. Been talking to my boss at work. We do signs and the like which means he deals in a lot of materials... materials ideal for making armour. Materials ideal for making a claw. I just need to get to work on some patterns and find something to help mold the shapes but my boss says he'll let me buy some PVC ( Read more... )

You'd better get moving on that outfit. Already I'm starting to panic about starting mine so late. :P

Good to see that you finished HBP! :D

The one point that I will argue against you about is:

However, I was disappointed that Harry pulled the "I am a lone hero" thing at the end of the novel. It seems way too cliched and, in my opinion, contradicts the "Love" theme of the novel.

There was a love theme in the novel, but 'silly teenage romances' don't fit the bill. She could show 'love' between friends, family, mentors, etc, but romances at 16 don't count as 'love'. Especially not in Harry's case where he was all "ZOMG, Ginny is kissing someone else and she is hot! Now I suddenly want to kiss her too ( ... )

I wouldn't write off a romance just because of age... however in the context of the events of the novel I can see your point. Harry's whole Ginny thing does seem to come out of nowhere. However, his insistence that it'd be too dangerous to be with her seems kind of silly/cliched to me still.

I don't know how (or why) one would run off with Tom. He's all gruesome looking.... and I imagine finds the idea of intimacy with another human repulsive. Besides he's probably got some weird snake fetish or something...

I think it mayyy have already been mentioned.... but Harry is clearly gay for Malfoy, thus he ditches Ginny to master the magical art of the skinflute player. Ginny then clearly joins forces with Voldemort, gets to level 20, then backstabs V for a final plot twist and becomes queen of the wizarding world. Evil and Good. Cause... the extra exp from killing Voldy makes her epic? I got nothing :(

It has been confirmed that Tom Riddle is an attractive man... And by a less reliable source that he is a great shag.
