that's just silly.. if, i'll admit, a bit humorous.. (although wine=headache and vomiting for me which does not equal health!)
e. coli are found in feces.. but they are found inside every mammal's gut because they are part of the intestinal flora.. they don't=poop.. but can be a sign of fecal matter..
also.. are you trying to tell me that .02% of the water we drink is fecal coliforms? That seems rather high.. US EPA water standards state that water systems are in violation if they have more than .0005% of TOTAL Coliforms in water.. which is 40 times less than your amount.. and that includes all coliforms that are found in the environment--not just E. Coli and other fecal coliforms...
Maybe when Ben Franklin was around.. such was the case with water.. (in fact, I know it was... there's even a book out about how beer saved civilization during the 19th century run of cholera epidemics..) but today that's just not the case..
I know I'm being a big spoilsport here.. but I really don't like wine.. ;)
If I'm ever unlucky enough to receive a deep wound (dog bite maybe?)... Given the choice between cleaning the wound with a bottle of Dasani or a bottle of Everclear, I'll take the alcohol. Everything in between is various shades of contaminated.
