So, the day after Thanksgiving...my snake escaped her tank. Yes, it was my fault. I was an idiot. I tried all the tricks to coax her out, but to no avail. Time passed, and it's not unheard of for reptiles to go into hiding and not come out for a long time. All the people I spoke to said as much. Ok ( Read more... )

Fucking A man. That's awesome. I'm so glad she's back. I know how much it was bothering you that she was missing. Hell it was bothering me, and she's not even mine! I bet she'll probably start eating by this weekend. She probably ate a cat or two while she was away.

Anyway, that's awesome.

Similar situation happenned to me. I had a hamster named Jane when I was still living at my Moms place. I came in to my room from the shower and found my cat Otis crouched near the tank, and the cover was dropped into the tank like a ramp. The hampster was gone, and I naturally assumed Otic had eaten her. I was pissed. So 3 days go by, and I come in late. I walk into the living room to go up the stairs and I see my other cat Mila staring at the corner, standing very still (Blair Witch style). I call her, no response. I walk over to her and shes staring at a small moving object. It was my hamster! The damn thing had gotten out, left my room, gotten DOWN THE STAIRS and into my living room. I dont know why i think that its THATS weird though, the hamster had been know to, in he middle of the night, dislodge its running ball from the hinges, climb on top of it, stand on its hind legs to deadlift the tank lid off till it fell into the tank, climb out the 'ramp', just off the tank, off the shelf it was on, run across my room, ( ... )

I'm glad that worked out. I know a number of snake experts, including alabastard, you might also consult for advice.
