I had my recurring dream last night, the dream where I’m walking in the woods down a path. It was a warm and sunny day, at least I could tell with the tree cover. There were a few things different this time, my usual guide was not around which made me feel alone. I was also barefoot and my feet were cold. So like every time I have this dream I

It means pretty much what you have said.

this time there will be no help or direct sign as to the better path, or even the clear action to make a choice, even though having to make a choice is clear.

Being barefoot depends on the person, but to me it's a "good" sign, in that it shows you are more connected and thus better attuned to make the choice yourself.

It could be part of "Day Residue" in that you are reflecting your emotions toward a certain barefoot someone last night. That really depends on what you feel is right. It could be both.
