Graphics Card Help

Jul 16, 2007 14:59

Hey all my computer geek friends out in LJ land.

My graphics card died on me last night and I need to get a new one. What should I be looking for, and what is a good price?

What are you looking to do with it? Also, what is your price range You can do any number of things, depending on these factors.

There are great deals on NVIDIA and ATI cards (there are minor differences between the two, but both are just as good as the other), and you can do really well under $80 for mid-to-high end gaming, from what I've seen. Good luck.

Do you know if your computer takes a PCIExpress (new) or an AGP (less new) card? You'll have access to more cards if you can use PCExpress, but AGP cards tend to be a bit cheaper as they are going out of style.
