I don't think I killed your shield, just repadded it a couple times.

Seeing as I am NPCing Endgame:Canada, I don't need my shield quite so soon.

Yeah, I will be fixing it soon though.

Christmas Tree Shops.

No, I'm not kidding.

You know that "squishy foam, interlocking floor mat" that you can buy in 6'x4' kits? Designed to give a soft floor for workshops, laundry rooms, kid's play areas, etc. That's where I get it. Comes in useful 2'x2' sections, sometimes textrued, sometimes not.

The one I got at Christmas Tree Shops was 4 2'x2' sections, diamond tread on one side and smooth on the other. $10 per set. I may head over to Lowes and get some of the 4'x6' kits for $20, as they have diamond tread on one side and an interesting no-skid pattern on the other.

Oh, and it comes in 1/2" thickness.
